- Disabling Popup Blockers
Library: Disabling Pop-up Blockers
Pop-up blockers may prevent you from being able to fully utilize library resources. In particular, when using a library database pop-up blockers may prevent a full-text article from opening, and they may also block the "Get it @ UP" window from appearing, which would indicate your options for obtaining a copy of the article.

- Choose the Tools menu
- Choose Options
- Choose Content
- Uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows
Internet Explorer
- Choose the Tools menu
- Choose Pop-up Blocker
- Choose: Turn Off Pop-up Blocker
MacFirefox
- Choose the Firefox menu
- Choose Preferences
- Choose Content
- Uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows
Safari
- Choose the Safari menu
- Choose Preferences
- Choose Security
- Uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows
Pop-up blocker message in Internet Explorer
If a pop-up blocker message appears, follow the steps below to allow pop-up windows.
- When a pop-up window is blocked, you should see the following message:
- Click on the message, then select "Temporarily Allow Pop-ups" or "Always Allow Pop-ups from this Site" to disable the Google pop-up blocker:

- On the Google toolbar, click the text which indicates how many pop-up windows have been blocked:
- The Google toolbar should now appear like this:
