Library: Getting Started
Connecting to the library is very easy! All you need is access to a computer, your name, and a library barcode number.
- Your Computer - You need access to a computer with an internet connection and an internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari, and
Adobe Reader software (for viewing some full text documents)
- Library Barcode number - Your library barcode number is your UP student ID number.
When entering your barcode number, please enter ALL numbers (including the zeros at the
beginning of the number).
- UP network account - You need a UP network account to access your UP email, Moodle (where professors post course materials online), and UP ILLiad (for borrowing articles and books from us).
You should receive your UP network account while you are taking your first class. Or, contact the Help Desk (503-943-7000; 1-800-227-4568 x7000) to request your UP
network account.
- Accessing library resources - To access the library's online resources,
just go to the library home page, go to the Databases A-Z or the Resources by Subject, and choose any link. You'll automatically
be asked for your name and barcode number.
For further information about connecting to library resources see the
instructions and troubleshooting guide.
