Library: Library Toolbar
The University of Portland Clark Memorial Library has designed a toolbar that
gives you instant access to the library and facilitates research, wherever you are,
from the Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers. Currently, the library toolbar is not available for Google Chrome.

Drag text from HTML or PDF pages to search Google Scholar: |

A context menu lets you select HTML text and search UP WorldCat, the UP-Only catalog, and other options. Use the Toolbar Preferences menu to customize this list. |

In PubMed, the toolbar converts PMID links to Get it @ UP searches: |

Found a Digital Object Identifer (DOI)? Follow the link to search Get it @ UP: |

Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other bookstore sites will have a hot-linked toolbar icon, allowing a search for that item in UP WorldCat: |

Library Toolbar Updates:
Both Internet Explorer and Firefox should automatically detect updates. Additionally, under "Toolbar Preferences" you can "Check for Updates."
Uninstalling the toolbar:
Internet Explorer: From the Start bar, select the Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. Look for the file called “LibX for IE” and choose the Change/Remove button.
Firefox: In the Firefox browser, select the Tools menu, then Add-ons. Look for the file called “University of Portland / Toolbar for University of Portland Library Users” and choose the Uninstall button.

The copyright is held jointly by Annette Bailey and Virginia Tech.By using this extension your browser may send the URL of pages you are currently visiting to the UP library’s catalog server. Such information is sent only if you are actively using the extension; it is never sent automatically. If you wish to avoid this you must turn off the referrer URL by setting network.http.sendRefererHeader to 0 in your Firefox preferences (note that this may cause some web sites that require referrer information to not work correctly).
