Request Items for the Collection

Collection development at the University of Portland is a collaborative venture guided by the Library's Collection Development Policy

The library assigns a librarian to each school or department as a liaison who works with faculty to build the library's collection and is a point of contact for other Library services. To allow librarians to review faculty and student needs, monitor budgets, and facilitate the order process faculty members are requested to send order requests directly to the assigned liaison.  [Find your Library Liaison]

How long does it take for the library to purchase items?

Book and video requests can usually be obtained in a few weeks although it may take from two to three months to fill requests. Please plan accordingly. Rush orders can be accommodated; they are expedited both within the Library and by the supplier. Orders should be submitted or questions about materials or procedures for acquiring them should be directed to the library liaison
