Send a Purchase Request

Collection development at the University of Portland is a collaborative venture guided by the Library's Collection Development Policy. We welcome your suggestions on new items to add.

Send us suggestions

Students & Staff:

If you have a book or video you think we should purchase for our collection, let us know through our Suggest a Purchase form.

For Faculty:

The library assigns a librarian to each school or department to serve as a point of contact for Library Services and to work faculty to build the library's collection. Please send your purchase request to the library liaison assigned to your school or department.

How long does it take for the library to purchase items?

Book and video requests can usually be obtained in a few weeks, although in rare cases, it may take up to three months to fill requests. Please plan accordingly. Rush orders can be accommodated; they are expedited both within the Library and by the supplier. Please direct any questions about materials or procedures for acquiring them to your library liaison

Requesting articles/book chapters

If you need a PDF of a book chapter or a journal article, please make a request through Interlibrary Loan
